Dr Penny Trayner is a Chartered Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). She holds the BPS Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (Paediatric) and leads an independent practice that specialises in innovative, community-based neuropsychological rehabilitation for children and young people following acquired brain injury.
With a career spanning inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, including CAMHS, paediatric neuropsychology, and learning disability services, Dr Trayner brings a wealth of experience in supporting children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. She integrates evidence-based, forward-thinking approaches across her clinical work, drawing on a range of psychological models tailored to individual needs.
Dr Trayner works with individuals, families, groups, and teams, and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences and training events. Her work is driven by a commitment to innovation, research, and the delivery of neuropsychological care that is progressive and personal.
Dr Penny Trayner is the Academic Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the University of Liverpool. This programme is close to her heart, as this is where she completed both her Batchelor’s and Doctorate degrees.
